Regular Medication
Attached to your prescription is a repeat prescription sheet for any regular medication. Use this if you need a repeat prescription. Tick the medication you need and hand it to reception. This needs to be at least 48 hours before you need the prescription. The prescription which will be ready for you to collect the following day.
You can post your request along with a stamped addressed envelope. We will then post the prescription back to you. Please remember to allow extra time if you choose this method. Requests for repeat prescriptions will only be accepted by prior arrangement with the Doctor. If you have any problems with these arrangements, please inform us and we will do our best to help.
One off items or Acute items
You will need a telephone consultation with the GP for any medications that are a one off issue or “Acute Items”. These will not be ordered with your repeats.
Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.
Electronic Prescriptions (EPS)
This is useful if you normally collect repeat prescriptions from the same place, or if you collect them on behalf of someone else:
- you can collect repeat prescriptions directly from a pharmacy without visiting your GP
- you won’t have paper prescriptions to lose
- you may spend less time waiting in the pharmacy
- the service is reliable, secure and confidential

Nominating a pharmacy
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- Online, on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- At your GP practice
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Medication reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. Please book a routine appointment for your review.

You can also contact us at the surgery in two ways. Contact your GP using an online form. We will respond when we are open (Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 6.30pm).
